Henna during Pregnancy: Why it's exciting, and how to keep it safe

Belly Bump appointments are usually scheduled for pregnant mommas in their third trimester, when the baby has already made a very cute round bump in the mothers' stomach, and involved decorating the baby bump with beautiful, intricate, henna designs. Lavender is one of the few essential oils that are considered safe to use topically during pregnancy, along with some other essential oils like Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Geranium, Lemon, and Sandalwood. Many other essential oils are recommended to be used only when diluted with a carrier oil such as coconut oil. These include (but are not limited to), Clove, Eucalyptus, Melaleuca (Tea Tree), Oregano, and Peppermint essential oils. These are totally safe essential oils to use when not pregnant, but because caution must be exercised if one chooses to use them during pregnancy, Henna Art chooses to stick completely to Lavender essential oils in our Pregnancy Henna, which is completely safe during the whole pregnancy.
