How To Mix Our Organic Henna

I decided to do a step by step for those who are mixing and making henna at home.
I know a lot of people want to try but don't know how to use some of the products.
Today I will do a step by step on how to prepare our Organic Henna.

We sell smaller kits to purchase for home use.

First you will need to order our Organic Henna Body kit-you can also order some of our cones that are great for storing and freezing the paste in.

Once you have the kit at home you will need

  • Lemon Juice (I used the bottled stuff)
  • Ceramic or glass bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • Sugar (1.5 teaspoons)
  • Gloves
  • Paper Towel
Everything else will come in our package

  • Take One tablespoon of the Henna powder and put it aside (this is called your reserve powder)
  • put the rest in your glass bowl.
Add your sugar

  • Slowly add the lemon juice and mix until you have the consistency of mashed potatoes. If if gets to runny you can add your "reserve powder"

Stir until theres no lumps, it should be smooth but on the thicker side

Now you will add 10 mL of your essential oil (this is included in your package) Yes, it seems like a lot but add it ALL and mix again

Cover the paste with plastic wrap, touching the henna paste (this eliminates extra air) place a small paper towel on top of the plastic wrap and cover again with another piece of plastic wrap.  This layer should be touching the previous layer.

Place the bowl in a warm place, i used a heat register.  Keep away from direct sunlight.  It should sit for about 12 hours or overnight.  The paper towel will change in colour from white to light brown or yellow.  This indicates the Dye Release.

  • Now remove the wrap and stir the henna paste.  Add lemon juice one teaspoon at a time to adjust the consistency.  It should be like pancake batter.
Now you can put the paste into a carrot bag, I put the bag in a cup for easier handling

Cut a small hole in the bottom of the carrot bag and squeeze the paste into your cone (these can be made yourself or purchased on our website.

  • Henna stains best when its fresh
  • You can store the paste for 2-3 days in a fridge
You can freeze it too just thaw paste at room temperature two hours before use

We sell EVERYTHING you could ever need, we have different cones to choose from as well
