Our Organic henna powder is from the Rajasthan region of India. Our organic henna powder is triple sifted for smooth applications for body art or natural hair dye. Your order includes instructions on use for natural hair dye and for body art.
Each packet is vacuum packed in a clear bag, then sealed with a foil bag on the outside. This prevents the henna from being exposed to too much light and air. You should store the henna powder in a cool, dark place, like a closet or medicine cabinet. Contrary to modern belief, DRY henna powder should not be stored in the fridge or freezer, as it increases exposure to moisture and the chance of freezer burns.

Our organic henna powder is recommended for multiple uses. We recommend this powder for all types of users, from beginners to professionals.

Natural Hair Dye: Organic henna powder that is body art quality makes it the perfect choice for using this powder for natural hair dye. Body Art Quality (BAQ) means the powder is finely sifted, without twigs, sticks, or leaves. We recommend that you gently sift the powder before mixing in order to break up clumps of henna due to vacuum seal. You can use this powder by itself or mix it with other herbs and ingredients to Naturally Dye your Hair

Our organic henna powder will help you achieve tones of reds, auburns, and even jet black when mixed with the right ingredients. Mix the powder with warm water, lemon juice, or tea and allow it to rest for dye release. Then, apply the paste to your hair for a safe, natural and organic alternative to chemical hair dyes. More information on natural hair dye can be found here:

Body Art: Triple sifted powder makes our organic henna powder the perfect choice for body art applications. We recommend that you gently sift the powder before mixing in order to break up clumps of henna due to vacuum seal. Our powder is triple sifted, so any bumps in your paste are due to the vacuumed sealing and not because of any debris or quality of the powder. Mix the powder with water, lemon juice, or tea. Add essential oils of your choice and fill into an applicator of your choice. Full instructions, recipes and details can be found here:  http://www.hennaart.ca/Henna-Recipes.html

Organic henna powder is from Rajasthan. The natural quality of this powder is stringy and slimy. When mixed for body art, the paste has lots of elasticity (slimy) and flexibility. This is the powder of choice by many professional artists. We recommend using this henna powder in order to achieve long, draping lines. We use our organic henna powder in our Signature Henna cones.

WHERE DOES THIS HENNA COME FROM?
Our organic henna powder comes from the Rajasthan region of India. Our Organic Henna Powder was formerly known as “Raj Henna” Rajasthan is known for its premium quality henna powder. Because of low rainfalls, and drought seasons, Rajasthani henna produces high dye content (lawsone molecule), thus, is the best to use for body art. The natural stringiness of Rajasthani henna make for smooth applications, and our fresh henna powder ensures great stain quality. Rajasthani henna is bright green in color, and has a distinct smell like hay and grass.
Rajasthan's henna growing regions get less than 40 cm of rain per year. When the monsoon season brings less rains to Rajasthan, the henna crops grow smaller, however, have a higher dye content. The henna plant does not require extensive watering or irrigation, thus making it appealing for many farmers. Because of low skilled labor required to grow and harvest the henna plant, many farm based families can sustain themselves. Women are usually responsible for weeding and harvesting, while men take care of soil preparation and transportation. Every part of the henna plant is utilized. The leaves are dried and milled into henna powder for body art and hair; the flowers are gathered and pressed for perfume oil, and the twigs are used to feed the cattle. Thus, farmers in India regard the henna plant as a desirable crop, as well as part of their heritage.
